This is a very common fault with both the DS lite and the DSi. The top screen will often become faulty due to the case damage this is due to the fragile nature of the PCB ribbon that passes through the hinge.
Book your console under this fault if you experience any or all of these symptoms:
- Either the right (most commonly) or left corner hinge of the DSi has snapped away from the console.
- The DSi hinge remains attached, however cracks or a bend can be seen on the hinge.
- This repair covers any other cracks that appear on your DSi console, cracks that may appear on the casing surrounding the top screen.
- The top screen is faulty, it may be completely white or fading.
- The bottom screen may flash on very briefly when the console is powered on, this means the top screen is faulty.
